Target Audience
Staff or volunteers working at INTRODUCTION LEVEL who have the responsibility of being the designated Child Protection person (or deputy) for their group / club / organisation.
Prior Learning
Participants should already have attended the Introduction to Child Awareness course. No other prior knowledge or learning is assumed.
Learning Outcomes By the end of the training participants will have:
· An understanding of the role of the Child Protection Designated Safeguarding Person, and what this means in providing support and guidance to others within the group, club or organisation.
· Knowledge of the processes they need to use when child protection concerns are raised, and who they need to contact.
· An increased level of confidence to deal with possible child protection issues appropriately.
Learning Methods
This is an online training session which includes presentations, group exercises and discussions.
THIS IS FOR LEVEL 1 & 2 (INTRODUCTION LEVEL) ONLY.
N.B. DELEGATES NEED TO HAVE PREVIOUSLY ATTENDED THE INTRODUCTION TO SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN TRAINING WITHIN THE LAST 3 YEARS.
1 day courses are from 9.30-1.00pm.
2 day evening courses are from 6.30-8.30pm on 2 consecutive days from the first date and both sessions must be attended to complete the course.
The cost for this training will be dependent on whether you are a Safer Member and still have any of your 2 free places left. If you have already used your free spaces then the cost would be £20 per delegate. The cost for non-members is £40 per person.
