What is this course about?
Developed in collaboration with experienced safeguarding consultants, legal experts, and charity organisations to ensure accuracy, relevance, and real-world application.
Aligned with key UK guidance including Working Together to Safeguard Children and Keeping Children Safe in Education.
No prior knowledge of safeguarding required.
What you'll learn
- Overview - what safeguarding children means, including key laws, guidance and how protection systems work across the UK.
- The 5 R's of Safeguarding - how to Recognise, Respond, Record and Report safeguarding concerns and how they are Referred.
- 4 Main Types of Harm - physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse and neglect.
- Additional Types of Harm - online abuse, bullying, Prevent, FGM, county lines, exploitation and trafficking, breast flattening and forced marriage.
- Who is at Risk - recognising the signs of abuse and who is most at risk.
- Quizzes & Scenarios – realistic situations to reinforce learning
