Trustees are responsible for running their charity in compliance with the charity’s governing documents as well as the law. This course will explore how to understand and comply with your governing documents, as well as when and how to update them.

Who this course is for:

This course is focused on charity trustees who are involved in managing village halls and community buildings and may also be of interest to others, such as parish councillors and clerks.

Aims of the course:

By the end of the course, you will have a good understanding of what is meant by governance and how governing documents can affect charity organisations. You will also know how to interpret governing documents, demonstrate compliance with them and update them, and have the confidence to apply your knowledge to your own organisation.
